Overview - SURVIVAL SIGNS ACTIVITY CARDS - INDOOR & OUTDOOR SET
The Survival Signs Activity Cards offers students of varying ages and abilities, especially visual learners and nonreaders, four ways to effectively learn important signage found in both indoor and outdoor settings.
PCI’s Janie Haugen developed the Survival Signs Activity Cards to complement the Survival Signs product line that is available separately. The activity cards are designed to teach students how to recognize the international symbols and key words or phrases on 80 common signs located in the community.
Each survival sign is covered on the front and back of two activity cards. The 5- by 8-inch cards are categorized into:
-Indoor signs-Level One
-Indoor signs-Level Two
-Outdoor signs-Level One
-Outdoor signs-Level Two
The program teaches individuals:
-To recognize survival signs when both international symbols and words are shown
-To learn the definitions of the survival signs
-To recognize the survival signs when only the international symbols are shown
-To look for key words or phrases when survival signs are shown without the international symbols as a helper
